Purolene

Purolene is a highly refined, colourless solvent that has a very low aromatics value and is low in odour. Purolene will evaporate quickly and completely to leave totally dry, non-greasy surfaces and therefore makes an ideal degreasant. It has a high affinity for mineral oils, lubricating oils and vegetable oils and is completely miscible with them. Purolene has a similar distillation range, evaporation rate and flash point to white spirit and as such can be used as a safer alternative to either white spirit or turpentine in many applications.

Benefits and advantages
Purolene is primarily used as a degreasant to remove dirt, grease and oil from component surfaces prior to performing the operations such as painting etc. It may also be used to remove temporary corrosion preventatives from metal surfaces and as a safer alternative to white spirit and turpentine's, e.g. as a 'thinner' for certain paints, preservatives and adhesives.
Purolene may also be used in certain applications to replace chlorinated solvents, although it should always be remembered that Purolene is flammable unlike the chlorinated solvents it may replace.
